On 7 July 2026, the PROMISEANG consortium gathered in Bremerhaven, Germany, for its latest General Assembly. Hosted by Biozoon, the meeting brought together project partners to review progress across all work packages, align priorities for the coming months, and strengthen collaboration as the project enters its next phase.
The agenda reflected the collaborative nature of PROMISEANG, with dedicated sessions covering project management, technical developments, sustainability, digital integration, communication, and exploitation. Throughout the day, partners shared achievements, discussed current challenges, and agreed on the actions needed to ensure the successful delivery of upcoming milestones and reports.
A key focus of the meeting was the progress made by the project’s Task Forces. Representatives presented updates on protein characterization, valorisation and product design, sustainability data, and digital integration, highlighting both technical advances and opportunities to further strengthen collaboration between partners. These discussions provided a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise, identify solutions to common challenges, and coordinate efforts across disciplines.
The General Assembly also served as an important forum for planning the next reporting period. Consortium members reviewed project timelines, discussed upcoming deliverables, and confirmed shared priorities to keep PROMISEANG on track towards its scientific and innovation objectives.
Communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities were also reviewed during the meeting. The consortium reflected on the strong outreach achieved over the past months, including regular social media engagement, newsletters, blog publications, participation in international events, and growing collaborations with European initiatives. Partners also discussed future communication activities and agreed on the importance of continuing to maximise the visibility and impact of PROMISEANG’s research through coordinated dissemination efforts.
The meeting concluded with a review of agreed actions and deadlines, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that drives the project forward. As PROMISEANG continues to develop innovative microbial proteins from non-conventional marine resources, regular consortium meetings remain essential to ensuring scientific excellence, effective knowledge exchange, and successful project implementation.
