Several exciting developments and initiatives are on the horizon: 2025 Next Steps

Our team is making steady progress with concrete actions to enhance the resilience, circularity, and sustainability of bio-based marine protein industries.

The 2025 plan is structured around the following pillars:

  • Advancing Fermentation Technology: Our focus remains on improving solid and liquid-state fermentation technologies. These advancements will be crucial to optimizing processes and achieving the project’s ambitious goals.
  • Collaboration with European Projects: We are set to exchange knowledge and collaborate with other European initiatives aligned with our objectives. This will not only enhance dissemination opportunities but also pave the way for future commercialization of project-derived products.
  • CSIC Training Webinar: In January, we will host a webinar showcasing how to use the PROMISEANG-SEEK platform. This essential tool is designed to store and manage all project data efficiently.
  • Third General Assembly in Budapest: The next General Assembly will take place in May in Budapest, hosted by UVMB.
  • Substrate Selection: Over the coming months, we will identify the 10 most suitable substrates for fermentation and protein extraction experiments, advancing our research capabilities.
  • Exploring Other Compounds of Interest: Beyond proteins, we will assess the presence of additional compounds in our samples that hold industrial potential, broadening the project’s overall impact.
  • Market Interviews: To better understand market entry perspectives for products derived from underutilized sources, we will interview 15 stakeholders in the food production sector from each participating country (Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, and Hungary).
